Creating a Business Dashboard in Excel
An Excel Dashboard can be an amazing tool when it comes to tracking ​Key performance indicators (KPIs), comparing data points, and getting data-backed views that can help management make decisions.In this tutorial, you will learn how to create an Excel dashboard, best practices to follow while creating one and features and tools you can use in Excel.

KPIs are used to quantify a business's success in comparison to a set of targets, objectives, or industry peers. Financial KPIs include net profit (or the bottom line, gross profit margin), revenue less specified expenses, and the current ratio (liquidity and cash availability)

Follow the tutorial

Download the Excel Dashboard data sheet listed in the resources area.

Review the excel data sheet provided in the resources area.

Add the five - six questions to the Excel Dahsboard Sheet ahown in the tutorial listed in the resources area.

Add three screenshot images of 
dashboard examples you found online that best represents your business data.

Follow the tutorial listed in resources area and ​Download Dashbaord Data Sheet.

Create a folder

-

Create a document with your business name, a short description of what the business does or will do, and a short description of the type of data your business will be interested in.  

Add your created wireframe of your dashboard to a new tab on your worksheet as shown in the tutorial. Make sure to name the tab "Wireframe"


Write the  six questions listed in the tutorial on the tab (worksheet) named "Main dashboard questions".

Create a new tab  and name it "Example Dashboards". Include 3 images of example dashboards you selected online.

Create a project folder on your Google drive or a cloud drive of your choice.

Make the folder sharable with a link for all.

Make sure to name the tabs exactly as the requirements mention above.

Submit the assignment

Upload your completed assignment to your project folder.

Submit your Google drive or cloud storage link to the Canvas

Upload a screenshot of your wireframe to the CIT 114 discord channel.

Note: If you decide to complete this assignment as a group, you must create a simple contract stating what each member will be responsible for.
The advantages of doing this project as a group are that the project's tasks can be spread out and the team can turn in the same link. To understand how the contracts must be created please check with students on discord as this is an option and not a requirement to complete this assignment.
